Lammershoek Red Mysteries 2017

Type: Lammershoek

The only mystery about this wine is how they got all that goodness into one bottle. A Shiraz based blend that includes Carignan, Mouvedré & Grenache. These grapes thrive in the warmer climate of Southern France, they also thrive in the Mediterranean style climate of Swartland in South Africa. This up & coming wine region has been getting a lot of attention for all the right reasons and this wine is a perfect example of that. Strawberries, raspberries & cherries, need we say more?

Platter's Wine Guide - 91 Points

Lammershoek literally means “lambs’ corner”, and legend has it that ewes sought shelter for their offspring in the forest alongside the farm when they were threatened by the black eagle which abounded there. Established in 1718 Lammershoek is the oldest estate that we import from, it is owned and run by the husband & wife team Andres & Sonja Abold. Located in the Swartland Region, Lammershoek's climate is perfectly suited varieties such as Chenin Blanc & Shiraz. Blessed with an abundance of old vines, the farm produces some exceptional delights including our personal favourite the White Mysteries white blend.
