Catherine Marshall Finite Elements Pinot Noir 2022

$480.00
750ml

If you consider yourself a Pinot Noir fan, and let's be honest, who isn't? Then you've come to the right place. Catherine Marshall has earned herself the unofficial title of South Africas Queen of Pinot Noir. This isn't an easy grape to master in the South African climate and many a winemaker has failed trying to do so. Cathy, as she is affectionately known, honed her Pinot winemaking techniques in Burgundy and Oregon and has since been setting the benchmark for South African Pinot Noir year after year. An intricate blend of Dijon clones 115, 677 and 777 sourced from the Elgin Valley and the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. The results are lush and complex cranberries, pomegranate and fresh cherries. All of this underpinned by the classical notes of forrest floor and truffle, "Elgin Vallet meets Pommard" as Tim Atkin MW put it.

Catherine Marshall Wines

It ain't easy producing an exceptional Pinot Noir in South Africa, no one knows this more than South Africa's 'Pinot Noir Empress' - Catherine Marshall. So, needless to say, when we went in search of the best Pinot Noir to add to our portfolio there was only one place to go. Catherine is one of the original independent winemakers in South Africa, long before all the cool kids got onboard she was blazing a trail with her range of award winning wines. Her approach followed by many younger winemakers today, minimal intervention in the cellar which means the hard work is done in the vineyards.
